Double the Deception

GAME STORY:

Double the Deception revolves around the main character, Wyn, who wants to become the equivalent of a K-pop idol. It's the start of summer, and he finally receives a confirmation email that he has made it to the second interview round of Starlight agency. This progress is significant since it comes after many prior failed attempts.

His career goals finally start looking up, however, things don’t go as planned.  Due to certain circumstances, he ends up in the idol group Midnight Dawn. Drama, lies, and deception begin to unfold.

Throughout the gameplay, players have to make choices that could evade or further lead Wyn's story route into lies and deception. 

SENIOR THESIS OVERVIEW:

A year-long project where I wrote a 63  page research paper documenting the aspects of narrative game design and game user interfaces, how these factors lead to a game's success, and implementing what I learned to create Double the Deception.

 I wrote the story for the game and drew the characters and assets. I also used free assets from Canva for the GUI.

Ren’py (Visual Novel Game Engine), Python, Procreate, Canva, Creative Writing Skills, Narrative Game Design Skills.
